FARGO— Kroll's Diner, known for its award-winning Knoephla soup— fondly called the "lumpy yellow soup"—was recently featured on Food Network's list of the most classic diners in all 50 states .

Representing North Dakota, Kroll's Diner earned recognition alongside Mickey's Diner in St. Paul and Phillips Avenue Diner in Sioux Falls, S.D., which were classics in their respective state.

Founded in 1969 by Jim and Alvina Glatt, Kroll's Diner began in Bismarck as a family-owned German-American diner, styled with 1960s vibes of neon signs and jukebox tunes.
