(WJW) – There are multiple sobriety checkpoints set for the weekend ahead in Northeast Ohio.
The Summit County OVI Task Force will conduct sobriety checkpoints across the county on Friday.
According to a press release, the checkpoints will run into the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 16.
Stark County also announced Monday it would hold a sobriety checkpoint Friday night.
Specific locations and times will be announced closer to the date, officials said.
The goal of the checkpoints is to deter impaired driving and increase public awareness about the dangers of operating a vehicle under the influence.
Drivers are reminded to plan ahead or use designated drivers or rideshare services.
