The New England Patriots signed defensive tackle Milton Williams to a four-year contract worth $104 million with $51 million guaranteed.

Williams left the Philadelphia Eagles to join head coach Mike Vrabel and the Patriots coaching staff, and NFL.com writer Gregg Rosenthal ranked him as the top defensive line signing in free agency.

"Not re-signing Williams sooner may be the rare Howie Roseman decision he'd like back," wrote Rosenthal. "It's hard to ignore Williams may have been the best defensive player on the field in the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl."

It's hard not to make someone the top signing for their position when they sign a contract worth over $100 million, but Williams has certainly earned every penny.
