BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A man killed in a shooting in Birmingham last week was identified Monday morning.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said 31-year-old Taevon Jamir Arnold was the victim of a shooting on the 1400 block of 1st Ave. N on August 8. Arnold and another victim were transported from the scene to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Arnold later died from injuries while at the hospital.

Birmingham police confirm a suspect in the shooting was taken into custody on Saturday.
