EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office officials say a man is in jail after deputies a found dog inside his home living in unsanitary conditions.

According to a press release, deputies received a tip on Sunday just before 6:30 p.m. that Michael Wayne Scott Jr. had five active warrants out for his arrest and one writ of attachment warrant for delinquent child support.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found that Scott had run to the back bedroom of the home.

Deputies received consent to search for Scott from another resident who had debilitating health issues. She was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

When deputies entered the home, they could smell a strong odor of urine, along with overflowing litter boxes, an abundance of insect activity
