Warren Police: Child found in filthy home, another walks alone to father's work

WARREN Warren Police are investigating separate cases of alleged child endangering after two different children, ages 5 and 6, were found unattended over the weekend.

In one case, a boy, said to be 5 or 6 years old, was found walking alone on Draper Street SE late Saturday morning. According to a police report, a passerby called 911 after seeing the child, who was wearing only shorts and no shoes, call out for his mother.

When police arrived, they found the boy standing inside the front door of his home, saying, "Mommy left!" Officers entered the residence and found it in a state of disarray, with trash, rotten food, and feces throughout the home.
