WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - Texas Republicans plan to vote again to re-draw congressional district lines.

Republicans right now have a four-seat majority in the House of Representatives.

Historically, the president's party doesn't do well during midterm elections and President Donald Trump says he wants to preserve the Republican majority.

“These times call for fighting fire with fire. We didn't ask for this fight,” said Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.).

From New York to California, Illinois, Florida and Maryland, nine states have joined Texas’s fight to redraw congressional lines.

Last month President Trump pushed Texas to change its congressional map to give Republicans five more seats in the U.S. House.
