Two SUVs rested next to a tree following a crash in Blackstone Sunday night, with one person hospitalized, the Blackstone Fire Department said.

At around 9:38 p.m., firefighters learned of a crash involving two vehicles that had crashed into a tree, the fire department said in a statement . Deputy Fire Chief Brian Gartland told MassLive it was in the area of 244 Main St. and Goddard Street.

“The vehicle came to rest on top of another, necessitating extrication,” the statement read.

One person was found conscious and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, Gartland said. No one else was hurt.

Woonsocket and North Smithfield fire officials helped in the response to the crash and established an area for a medical helicopter to land, the department stated.
