Warner Bros. has set a monumental box office record as a studio, with Weapons marking its latest popular release. Opening on Aug. 8, the horror grossed $42 million at the opening weekend box office and became the latest movie from the studio to cross an important threshold. In addition to this great start, Zack Cregger's new horror flick has gone viral on social media, receiving strong reactions from moviegoers.

Following this year's release of Sinners , Minecraft , F1: The Movie , Final Destination: Bloodlines , Superman , and Weapons, Warner Bros. has become the first studio in history to have six consecutive films earning more than $40 million at the opening box office . Additionally, out of these six movies, half are entirely original stories.
