VanNeck wins gold at Legion national s

Noah VanNeck of Cedar Springs won two gold medals and one silver at the Legion national youth track and field championships on the weekend in Calgary.

VanNeck won the shot put for under-16 boys with a toss of 15.69 metres and the discus with 52.45 metres.

He was second in the hammer with 51.29 metres.

VanNeck set personal-bests in the discus and hammer while representing the London Western Track and Field Club.

Teammate Ian Costello of Chatham was ninth in the under-18 boys’ discus with 42.45 metres.
