Stonehouse’s newly-restored landmark fountain will be rededicated following its £53,000 renovation at a special event this weekend to celebrate the centenary of the town’s beloved park. ‌

Volunteers from Friends of Stonehouse Park, who have led the restoration efforts, have arranged a day of music and dance entertainment to unveil the refurbished Alexander Hamilton Memorial Fountain following months of work and to mark the 100th anniversary of the park. ‌

Local residents are warmly invited to join the landmark celebrations on August 17 by “bringing picnics and packed lunches” to enjoy the big day out – while the Friends group are already planning the next project in their development work at the park. ‌
