SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point has temporarily closed its Power Tower ride after a safety incident occurred on Sunday night. According to a spokesperson from the amusement park, a cable on one of the ride's towers detached from the ride vehicle during operation.
The ride's safety system performed as designed and the ride vehicle returned to the loading position safely. All guests exited the ride without incident and no injuries were reported.
"Safety is a top priority and the ride will remain closed while we complete a thorough review and inspection of the ride," the spokesperson stated.

Power Tower, a signature attraction at Cedar Point since its opening in 1998, stands 300 feet tall and offers guests a thrilling experience with both rapid ascents and sud
