Family members of the 53-year-old man killed last year at the Jeep Toledo Assembly Complex are suing Stellantis, saying the automobile giant lacked safety protocols to prevent the death.

Antonio Gaston of West Toledo was killed Aug. 21 when he was crushed to death by a vehicle chassis moving on the conveyor system, according to reports from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Lucas County coroner ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and determined his death was not instantaneous.
