Nkanyazi Collin Ndlovu, 39, has been sentenced to three life terms and 14 additional years by the Durban High Court sitting in Scottburgh.

He was convicted for the 2023 murders of his ex-girlfriend, Zanele Sharon Manzi, her mother Qhamikile Doreen Manzi, and the attempted murder of his son.

The crimes took place during a heated argument over money at the woman’s home in Chatsworth.

Ndlovu shot both women with an unlicensed firearm, killing them at the scene. He then shot his eight-year-old son, who survived after being taken to the hospital.

At the time, Ndlovu and the deceased were no longer in a relationship but shared two children. He had traveled from Greytown to fetch the children and brought a firearm with him.

Ndlovu fled the scene and was arrested in Johannesburg in February 2
