Northern California's first heat wave of the year continues Monday with a fourth-straight day of triple-digit temperatures, but relief is on the way.
It is considered a heat wave when at least three consecutive days see temperatures at or above 100 degrees.
The KCRA 3 weather team issued Impact Days for Friday through Monday because of how the heat could affect outdoor activities and lead to health risks.
Those sensitive to heat or who spend extended amounts of time outdoors could be susceptible to heat-related illnesses.
