While the Miami Dolphins‘ preseason debut against the Chicago Bears yielded some positive results on the field for Mike McDaniel‘s squad, the big news of the day came when it was revealed that a new teammate of Tua Tagovailoa will miss the remainder of the season due to a significant injury.

According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, running back Alexander Mattison suffered a neck injury that will require surgery and will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

“Dolphins RB Alexander Mattison has a neck injury that requires surgery, per sources. He’s expected to make a full recovery but will be out for the 2025 season. Has full strength and motion. Seven-year vet was having a quality camp in Miami.,” the insider reported via @JFowlerESPN.
