Another frightening weekend filled with monsters, zombies, killer clowns and everything horror fans love returns as Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Convention opens its dark gates in downtown Long Beach.

About 50,000 people are expected to attend the Aug. 15-17 event when it takes over the Long Beach Convention Center where people can expect to see fans dressed up in horror-themed costumes, meet celebrities, shop for all sorts of scary gear and goods, check out panels and walk through professional and homemade haunts.

“We deliver a fantastic show that provides people something to do at every minute that we’re open. There’s always something to check out,” said David Markland, executive director and co-founder of Midsummer Scream.
