Emmy-winning senior producer Adam Weissler is exiting Extra .
Weissler has been the show’s primary film, music, award show and talent booker for more than 25 years. His exit is part of a larger restructuring on the half-hour newsmagazine ahead of its 32nd season.
Weissler joined the Telepictures production in 2000 to re-establish relationships with the industry when Extra made the decision to move away from the tabloid format and return to a talent-friendly destination.
During his time at Extra , Weissler was the first to interview rising artists Katy Perry, Norah Jones, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
