LSU is No. 9 in the Associated Press preseason top 25 poll , it was announced Monday.

It's the second top 10 preseason ranking for the Tigers. Last week, they were also ranked No. 9 in USA Today's US LBM coaches poll.

Clemson, LSU's season-opening opponent, is ranked No. 4 in the AP Poll. LSU and Clemson face at 6:30 p.m. CT on Aug. 30 inside Clemson Memorial Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ABC.

It will be the first time that LSU opens the season with a top 10 matchup in a true road game. The Tigers played top 10 games in 2011 against Oregon and 2023 against Florida State, but both took place at neutral sites.
