Influenced by acts such as Black Keys, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats and Hozier, the Slow Groove Kings, a self-described Southern Gothic Soul band, will release their new EP, The Nashville Vampire Supper Club , on Thursday, Aug. 21. They’ll play a release party that same night at Mahall’s 20 Lanes in Lakewood.

“What sets the record apart is the constant tension it holds between light and dark,” reads a press release about the EP. “[The song] ’Bag of Bones’ is a grinding, chugging elegy with menace — bluesy and shadowed like a bad memory — while 'Little Red String' opens a window into a relatable vulnerability, revealing a flicker of tenderness beneath the smoke and swagger.
