ST. LOUIS — Prosecutors have charged a man with manslaughter after a shooting Friday on a St. Louis street corner.
Demetrice Ginger, 54, was charged Saturday with voluntary manslaughter, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Authorities said Ginger shot a 50-year-old man at North Kingshighway and St. Louis Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. Friday.
Police found the victim on the ground in the 2900 block of Kingshighway. He died at a hospital. The victim's name has not been released.
According to court documents, Ginger and the victim were on a street corner with a group of people. They got into a quarrel and Ginger pulled a pistol. The victim moved toward Ginger, and Ginger shot him, police said.
