President Donald Trump jokingly pooh-poohed the idea of a “big, beautiful” White House briefing room after announcing the federalization of Washington , D.C., on Monday, telling reporters, “I don’t want you to be comfortable.”

The lighthearted moment came as Trump, minutes after laying out his plan for a federal takeover to bring down the district’s crime rate, took a question from Real America’s Voice reporter Brian Glenn .

“This is the most people we’ve ever seen in this briefing room ever, right?” Glenn asked.

For clarification, Trump called over White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to confirm.
