Lambton College will add up to 184 student space at its nursing school as the Ontario government moves to boost the number of nurses trained in Ontario.

The recent provincial announcement of additional nurse training spaces in Ontario means another 40 spots in Lambton’s honours bachelor of science nursing program and another 144 in its practical nursing program, the college said.

“We greatly appreciate the provincial government’s continued investment in nursing education, and we can’t wait to welcome our new nursing students,” Kurtis Gray, an associate vice-president with the college said in a statement.

Lambton expects to “welcome between 250 and 300 nursing students this academic year,” the college said.
