HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A story that once captured the hearts of Huntsville residents is making headlines again and this time, it’s in book form.

Toffee’s Great Rescue has officially been published, bringing a real-life tale of courage, community, and one determined puppy to the page.

Toffee, a partially blind and deaf puppy, first made news in 2018 when she slipped into a narrow crevice in her family’s backyard. What followed was a tense, 30-hour rescue mission that had the community watching, hoping, and cheering.

Seven years later, Toffee’s story has been transformed into an illustrated book, complete with artwork by Nancy Finnegan. The book release party was held tonight at Back 40 Beer Company Saturday, where fans gathered to celebrate Toffee.
