SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Fair received 800 pounds of butter from Batavia on Monday in preparation for the Annual American Dairy Association North East Butter Sculpture.
2025 marks the 57th year of the project featured. On Monday, sculptors Jim Victor and Marie Pelton began building a piece that recognizes the work of dairy farms and celebrates the fair's festivities.
"This annual butter sculpture is more than a fair tradition; it's a tribute to around 2,800 hardworking dairy farmers across New York State who work tirelessly every day to produce high-quality, nutritious milk and dairy products," CEO of the American Dairy Association North East, John Chrisman, said in a statement.
