Allentown firefighters quickly worked to extinguish a blaze Sunday afternoon at a city home, a fire official said.

City fire Chief Efrain Agosto told lehighvalleylive.com flames ignited just after 12:30 p.m. at the home in the 500 block of North 11th Street.

Crews began extinguishing flames in a large garage behind the home and then worked the back of the three-story structure, the fire chief said.

It’s unclear if anyone was inside when the fire began. There were no reported injuries.

Flames were quickly extinguished; crews remained at the scene for about two hours to extinguish hot spots, Agosto said.

Photos show heavy damage to the back of the home and the garage appeared to be gutted.

Agosto said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation by city fire officials.
