He wants to keep his home run balls as souvenirs. That can require negotiations when fans retrieve the balls before his teammates.

When Goodwin went deep three times in Saturday’s 19-4 win over the Brantford Red Sox at Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park, he was able to recover two of the balls.

“I was super excited,” he said. “The third one, Eric Pettipiece tracked it down. He saw a kid run and get it and then tracked him down all the way to the concession stand and traded some batting gloves for it. I was super appreciative for that.”
