An Edinburgh woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a car on Monday evening.

Around 5.20pm on August 11, police raced to Montrose Terrace after reports of a road traffic collision. The incident involved a car and a female cyclist.

The woman was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

Inquiries are ongoing into the incident. Edinburgh Travel News warned locals and motorists on X.

A message reads: "Serious RTC at Abbey Mount/Regent Road (possible pedestrian). Road closed, ambulance in attendance."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.20pm on Monday, 11 August, 2025 we received a report of a crash involving a car and a bicycle on Montrose Terrace, Edinburgh.
