Just when I thought about waving the white flag and declaring it football season, the Mets decide to lose 11 of their last 12 games and put the Reds right back in the race. At just 1.5 games back (as of Monday), Cincinnati can find themselves in an even better position if they find a way to win at least four of six games against the Phillies and Brewers. Tall task, I know, but with Snoop Dogg in attendance on Monday and with the return of Hunter Greene, I think this rotation and pitching staff is ready to go on a run. Want to be a playoff team? Then play like one over the next six games. As for the fans, the Reds are in the race in Mid-August. Head to the ballpark and show this team why Cincinnati is a baseball town.
