FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. —

The Floyd County Health Department announced more mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in the area.

One positive pool was found carrying the virus from a sample taken July 20.

The samples were part of routine countywide mosquito testing.

Floyd County Department of Health says as of Monday, no human cases have been identified.

This is the third pool of mosquitoes to test positive for West Nile from July sampling.

Routine samples collected on July 13 found two positive mosquito pools.

Officials are advising people to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites, including using DEET repellents and wearing protective clothing.

There has been once human case identified across the river in Louisville.
