A huge fire fighting operation is underway after a blaze broke out at a waste management plant.

Around 60 crews are currently at the management facility off Cornets End Lane, in Meriden, Solihull , after flames tore through the site at 4pm on Monday (August 11).

West Midlands Fire Service has nine fire engines, two 4×4 brigade response vehicles, and a hydraulic aerial platform at the scene.

A specialist high water pumping route is also en-route.

No one has been reported hurt or missing.
