MONTCALM COUNTY, MI — A tree from a West Michigan farm will grace the White House this Christmas.

Korson’s Tree Farms , based in Sidney, was named grand champion in this year’s National Christmas Tree Association contest. Part of the honor includes supplying the official White House Christmas tree.

“We’re very excited. It’s almost surreal,” co-owner Jessica Korson said, noting this is the sixth competition for the 51-year-old farm.

Winning the coveted title was a years-long endeavor for Korson’s Tree Farms. The farm previously won second reserve champion in the 2015 National Tree Contest, achieving the honor of sending eight trees to the Washington, D.C. residence of then-Vice President Joe Biden.
