HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On Aug. 9, Cross Lanes’ own Kathy Mattea was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Opry member Charlie McCoy, according to a press release.
Mattea is a multi-Grammy Award winning singer, four-time CMA Award winner, and host of the“Mountain Stage” radio show.
McCoy surprised Mattea onstage during her performance of her award-winning hit, “18 Wheels and A Dozen Roses,” and delivered the news, and the two ended up finishing the song together, the press release said.
