IOWA CITY — Iowa fans know Gennings Dunker as the stalwart right tackle for the Hawkeye football team, a 2024 second-team All-Big Ten honoree (coaches) and one of the nation’s top offensive linemen.

On Friday, head coach Kirk Ferentz described Dunker as a “really interesting guy,” akin to the Most Interesting Man in the World of Dos Equis commercial fame.

“In fact, he'd be more eye-grabbing because of his red-headed mullet,” Ferentz said. “He's a highly intelligent guy and he hides it well sometimes, so it's interesting that way. He'll play games with you, but man, I'll tell you, this guy works.

“… He's a joy to coach. He's a lot of fun.”
