MINONK, Ill. – A crash on I-39 near Minonk is under investigation.

Woodford County Chief Deputy Sheriff Dennis Tipsword said the accident occurred at 9:01 a.m. on I-39 near Minonk.

A northbound semi rear-ended an unoccupied disabled vehicle parked on the shoulder.

The semi was hauling a loaded flatbed trailer.

Tipsword said following the collision the semi left the roadway and rolled onto its side in an adjacent field.

The driver and lone occupant of the semi was transported to OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac. No information has been released concerning the extent of his injuries.

Northbound I-39 was restricted to one lane of traffic for several hours for investigation and clean up.
