PEORIA, Ill. – One man is in custody after admitting to police he fired shots at another man.
Officers responded to a call of nine shots fired around 10:25 a.m. Friday near Warren Street and Lincoln Avenue in South Peoria.
They were met by a 68-year-old man who said he had been shot at while standing outside a house. He was not injured.
During their investigation, police identified the suspect as Kyle Smith, 33. Smith was later taken into custody and admitted firing shots at the man to scare him.
Smith was transported to the Peoria County Jail on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
