SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. (KFVS) - Heartland families in need of essentials for the new school year can find them for free at an event on Saturday, August 16.

The Back-To-School Free Clothing Sale is from 10 a.m. to noon at the Southern Illinois Resource and Advocacy Center in Shawneetown.

It is located at 193 W. Shawnee Ave.

Organizers say there will be clothing, shoes, backpacks, hygiene kits and more. The supplies will be free to help families prepare for back-to-school.

No registration is required. Students do not have to be present for parents to receive supplies.

SIRAC Executive Director Megan Ragan said more than 200 people showed up from across the region to the inaugural clothing sale in 2024.
