TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Tucson Police Department is looking for the driver of an SUV that officers say hit and killed a pedestrian.

The TPD says the crash happened early Sunday morning, August 10, in the area of East 22nd Street and South Park Avenue.

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital, and was later pronounced dead.

Police say the victim has been identified, but the name is not being released until next of kin can be notified.

Police say it appears the pedestrian was crossing the westbound lanes of East 22nd Street from north to south, not in a marked crosswalk and against the flow of traffic.

The individual was hit by an SUV traveling west on 22nd Street.

The SUV left the scene and was later located unoccupied.
