Judge Rules on Reporter’s Petition, Citing Prior Public Disclosures
Chief Judge James E. Boasberg of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ordered the partial unsealing of records related to the grand jury investigations of President Donald Trump. The decision, outlined in a memorandum opinion, grants in part a petition filed by New York Times reporter Charlie Savage to make public certain judicial records concerning privilege disputes in the two high-profile criminal probes.
The petition requested the unsealing of all opinions, orders, and docket sheets related to grand jury investigations into Trump’s alleged interference with the 2020 election and his handling of classified documents. Both investigations, which led to indictments, were later dismissed following Trum
