LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - When the Kansas Jayhawks open their season with their first game at the renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, they’ll be going up against the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Fresno State quarterback E.J. Warner, the son of former St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals great Kurt Warner, will start for the Bulldogs on Aug. 23, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel .

Over the past three seasons, Warner made 31 starts and appeared in 32 games for Temple and Rice. He threw for 58 touchdowns and 37 interceptions in those games, and will be in his first season in the Mountain West this year with Fresno State.

Warner’s brother Kade was a wide receiver at Kansas State in 2021 and 2022, and scored five touchdowns for the Wildcats during their Big 12
