LAURENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Laurens Police Department is investigating a case involving two juveniles in connection with break-ins at two railroad facilities in Laurens on Saturday.

Officials said that between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., the juveniles unlawfully entered the Carolina Piedmont and CSX Transportation railroad facilities.

Investigators determined that the juveniles started an engine that was connected to two other engines. They drove all three around the yard before taking them onto the line that connects toward Greenville.

While attempting to return the engines to the yard, officials said the juveniles collided with parked railcars. The collision caused the engine to derail and caused significant damage to one of the cars.
