Firefighters are taught that every second counts, but when it comes to their establishments, repairs can take weeks or even months.

That is what firefighters located at Toledo Fire and Rescue Stations 16 and 25 are experiencing.

Last fall, the city of Toledo contracted with Wolfe Roofing Inc. of Walbridge to replace the roofs at Station 16 on Dorr Street and Station 25 on West Central Avenue.

The work was supposed to be completed by March 31, according to the contract signed by the company and the city, but more than five months later, work is still under way.

David Wolfe, a project manager at Wolfe Roofing, said there have been multiple factors that delayed the completion. In addition to the roof replacements, the company fixed some of the plumbing and replaced windows.
