The U.S. Department of State has issued new travel advisories for Brazil and the United Arab Emirates, urging travelers to exercise increased caution when visiting these popular destinations, Parade reports.

Both countries received Level 2 travel warnings, potentially affecting travelers planning end-of-summer vacations to these locations.

The State Department highlighted rising crime and kidnapping concerns in Brazil, specifically warning about violent crime in urban areas.

“Violent crime, including murder, armed robbery, and carjacking, can occur in urban areas, day and night. There was a kidnapping for ransom of U.S. travelers,” the agency stated in its advisory.
