CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey announced Monday that West Virginia will see big savings from a workers compensation reduction.
According to Morrisey, the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) has filed a proposed workers’ compensation loss cost decrease of 13.5%, which will result in a projected $20 million for state employers.
The compensation loss decrease is effective January 1, 2026.
Morrisey says this works into his goal of attracting others to West Virginia.
“From the start, my administration has been focused on attracting more jobs and businesses to the Mountain State. The projected savings on premiums for workers’ compensation insurance helps cut costs for the state’s employers and any companies looking to move or expand into West Virginia,” Morrisey
