Alejandra Campoverdi, author of “First Gen,” will return to the Wood River Valley as a Writer-In-Residence at the historic Hemingway House in Ketchum. Her visit includes two free public events hosted by The Community Library: a conversation on resilience and identity and a memoir-writing workshop.
Campoverdi’s memoir traces her path from growing up on welfare in Los Angeles to serving as a White House aide under President Obama. In “First Gen,” she writes candidly about her family history, caretaking responsibilities and the complexities of social mobility while also reflecting on how those experiences shaped her sense of purpose.
