SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - The rodeo may have left town for the year, but there is still something to see in Sikeston.
A patch of sunflowers is growing at 1221 North Ingram, just down the road from the rodeo grounds.
Pastor John McHaffie with Sikeston First Assembly of God said they are for the community to enjoy.
“I’ve wanted to plant them for the longest time,” McHaffie said. “Our church recently sold our facility and [is] in the process of moving out there.”
Community members are invited to come out to take pictures with the sunflowers for free, and to find ways to sow seeds of kindness.
McHaffie said the theme for the project is “planting in faith, rising in hope.”
