RENSSELAERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) Two men are facing attempted murder charges after allegedly opening fire on a woman's car while she was driving. NEWS10's Amber Fisher spoke with the victim, who said she was just trying to protect her son.

Police received a call around 1 A.M. Sunday morning about a woman with a gunshot wound to her arm. The shooting occurred near the intersection of State Route 85 and County Route 6 in the town of Rensselaerville.

According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, the victim was a 53-year-old mom who went to check on her son, who was being verbally threatened by the two suspects. She then followed the suspects in her car in an attempt to get their license plate information. The suspects eventually got behind the victims car and began shooting. Police said tha
