KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The North Kansas City Police Department is investigating after a deadly shooting on Monday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., NKC police received multiple 911 calls stating that a shooting had occurred and a vehicle had crashed.

When officers arrived, they discovered a shooting had taken place. It is currently unclear what led up to the shooting.

One person was taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. The suspect was last seen leaving North Kansas City.

According to police, there is no immediate threat to the community.
