KANSAS CITY, Kan. - In a moment that brought together a grieving community, law enforcement from across the region, and everyday citizens, Wyandotte County said goodbye to one of its own: Deputy Elijah Ming.

But this was more than a farewell for a fallen deputy, it was a tribute to a young man who grew up in this community, went to middle and high school here, and became a true son of Wyandotte County.

Deputy Ming was laid to rest just days after his mother’s funeral, in a heartbreaking back-to-back loss for the Ming family.

From the streets of Kansas City, Kansas to the highways of Wyandotte, hundreds stood in silent tribute.
