HOOVER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The City of Hoover is facing a fast-approaching deadline to secure a healthcare provider for its planned surgical center at Riverwalk Village, a project announced two years ago as part of a major health and wellness initiative.

As of August, the residential portion of Riverwalk Village is under construction, the commercial side has received zoning approvals, and city leaders say they are actively negotiating with providers for the medical component.

But with no provider officially named, some city officials are beginning to question the project’s progress and viability.
